CyLH2Valley

(Unlocking the Castilla y León region potential to establish a clean Hydrogen Valley and Economy)

CyLH2Valley aims to establish a large-scale Hydrogen Valley in the CyL region, integrating mobility, industry, and energy applications. The project will ensure at least two years of full operation, producing, distributing, and consuming a minimum of 16,889 tonnes of clean hydrogen annually. With a total investment of over €340 million from 2025 to 2027, the project targets full integration and operation by 2028-2029.

The primary goal is to demonstrate the financial viability of the CyL Hydrogen Valley, showcasing how various applications (9 pilots) can be integrated into a cohesive system. This will highlight hydrogen's versatility as an energy vector, enabling sector coupling. Successful financial viability will pave the way for scaling up the valley and establishing a clean hydrogen economy in the CyL region by 2035. This aligns with the EU hydrogen strategy and REPowerEU plan, contributing to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

EPRI Europe Participation

EPRI Europe leads WP3, focusing on the conceptualization and design of the Hydrogen Valley Smart Advanced Virtual Tool (HVSAVT). This involves adapting Digital Twin technology to ensure interoperability, data integration, model development, visualization, and interface design. Additionally, EPRI will also develop advanced analytics tools and data-driven services to optimize the Hydrogen Valley's operation, maintenance, and logistics, leveraging the HVSAVT.
