SolarPower Summit 2026 will explore how solar and storage together can power every corner of Europe’s economy – from buildings to defense, from data centres to AI.   

In the session "Digital Revolutions: The Use of AI and Big Data in EU Energy Systems", EPRI Europe's Gianluca Lipari will join a panel of speakers who will delve in the topic of how AI and big‑data applications can enhance forecasting, system planning, and real‑time grid operation, and how these capabilities align with the Commission’s digitalisation and AI roadmap. The panel will examine opportunities and risks, including data governance, cybersecurity, interoperability, and the implications of the AI Act and Data Act for energy actors.

In this EUSEW policy session, speakers will discuss challenges and opportunities in developing, deploying and mastering sovereign European AI solutions for grids with research partners and system operators to accelerate our energy transition. EPRI Europe will be represented by Gianluca Lipari, coordinator of AI-EFFECT project.

The World Energy Council Central & Eastern Europe Energy Forum, organised every two years, is the most important regional event and exhibition hosted by the Romanian National Committee of the World Energy Council (WEC/RNC). It serves as a reference for energy specialists in Central and Eastern Europe.
